With
81 teams representing most provinces in Spain and each playing
their top ranked, Gibraltar players where able to participate
as the premier team for Granada (Santa Fe) under the name
Recreativos Algeire ‘A’. |

This
was the third Spanish National Darts Championships and the
Gibraltar players where very pleased to represent Granada,
due to the continued sponsorship given by Antonio Martin (representative
of Granada), which enabled the Gibraltar players to participate
in other qualifier tournaments and thus be able to enter such
a prestigious event.
Despite
a worrying start the players settled in quickly and used their
combined international experiences from other self-paid events
to battle on.
Soon enough they picked up the pace and proceeded to what
seemed each round with greater and greater ease.
Eventually
winning the final by 9-5 and 9-3.
Congratulations to worthy winners and thanks to Antonio Martin,
Irene Martin and his family for their kind support and sponsorship.
